3rd Tournament
- it just gets better & better!
Two days of great weather,
good golf, excellent food and fun made the 3rd Annual Dean's Pharmasave
Mattawa Hospital Charity Golf Calssic a total success!
The winners
of this year's tournament were the Mattawa Mights, a team made
up of Mattawa Golf & Ski Resort members - Paul Swindle,
Gary Lacelle, Dillon McGee & JC Belanger. This is their
2nd time of collecting the trophy following a close defeat last
year.. Well Done Guys!!

Guests
this year were Guy Hemmings, of the Canadian
Curling Association's Rockin' The House Tour and Scott
Clark radio & theatre personality from North Bay
now with the Benjamin James marketing company. They had people
in stitches (good job we had doctors around!) for the two days!
The
cruise down Champlain Lake on Tuesday evening, proved to be exciting
again this year with a fabulous welcome from Trillium
Dixie Jazz Band at
L'Auberge des Pionniers. Along with the beautiful tasty snacks,
Rick & Anne opened up their resort to 10 pontoons!
Golf
on the Wednesday started with Guy Hemmings and his a
unique talent of entertaining. Breakfast, provided by Mattawa
General Hospital and the Algonquin Nursing Home, was superb and
was consumed by an audience in laughter from the tales of Guy
and his curling experiences.
The
3rd Annual tournament also had the distinct pleasure of seeing
Monique Smith return to play. She has been a staunch supporter
of this event and we appreciate that. We also had notaries such
as Mayor Dean Backer (Mattawa), Mayor Bob Corriveau (Papineau-Cameron)
and Jeff Lewicki who stood in for Brian Chute (Gold Sponor - Dean's
Pharmasave) who happens to be travelling across this wonderful
country in a trailor!
Many
of our players and guests travelled from all over to participate
including Ottawa, Toronto, Sudbury, North Bay, Temisiciming, Timmins,
Montreal, & Barrie. More to follow...
